Do You Qualify for These Auto Insurance Discounts?

Find out if these apply to you – they may reduce the cost of your car insurance.

Having adequate auto insurance coverage is one way to be financially responsible. Another is to learn about the multiple discounts that may be available to help you save money without reducing the quality of your auto coverage.

1. Policy Discounts

Multiple vehicles

Do you own more than one vehicle? Many insurance companies offer a discount when you insure multiple cars on one policy. For example, an Amica multi-car discount can save you up to 25 percent on your policy.1

Multi-line

Consider bundling your insurance policies from the same company for increased savings. For example, you can package your auto insurance with your home/condo/renters and life policies. As an Amica policyholder, you can save up to 30 percent when you combine auto with your home, condo, renters, life or umbrella policies.1

Loyalty

When you stay with an insurer for an extended amount of time, you can qualify for a customer loyalty discount on your policy. The more time with your insurance company, the more you can save.2

Claim-free

Most insurance companies reward safe driving with lower premiums. Amica customers receive a discount when they’ve had no claims in the past three years (excluding glass or towing claims). To qualify for this discount, at least one driver on the policy must have a minimum of 39 months of driving experience.3

Home ownership

If you are a homeowner, you may be able to save on your auto insurance policy. Your home doesn’t have to be insured through Amica to qualify for this discount.1

Premium paid in full

Pay your entire policy premium up front to take advantage of this opportunity for savings.

Electronic enrollment

Receive a discount when you sign up to access your policy information and bills electronically – it’s good for the trees and your wallet.

AutoPay

Once you’re enrolled online, signing up for AutoPay ensures you’re never late paying a bill – and qualifies you for more savings.

All in the family

If you’re under 30 and your parents have had an auto policy with Amica for five consecutive years, you’ll be considered a legacy customer. As a result, you can receive a discount when you start your own auto policy with your own vehicle.4

2. Vehicle Discounts

You may qualify for insurance discounts if your vehicle has one or more of these five safety features:

  • Anti-theft system5
  • Electronic stability control
  • Passive restraint6
  • Forward-collision warning technology
  • Adaptive headlights

3. Driver Discounts

Defensive driver training

See if your insurance company offers a discount when adult drivers take an approved driving course.7

Student away at school

If you have a child that is away at school full-time and doesn’t have a vehicle, you may qualify for this discount.

Good student/college graduate

If you have a child with a driver’s license that is a full-time high school or college student under age 25 and in good academic standing (maintaining a B average or 3.0 grade point average), you can save money on your family’s car insurance. If your child is homeschooled, SAT scores may also provide eligibility. Also, if your young driver completes an approved driver training program, you may receive an additional discount.8
